The second of Kawasaki’s two reigning World Champions
kickstarts her title defence this weekend at the Grand Prix
of Germany as Molson Kawasaki’s Katherine Prumm takes
to the Talkessel circuit in Teutschenthal for the opening
round of three in the 2007 FIM Women’s World Cup.
The New Zealander has been in Europe for the past two
weeks, living and training from Molson’s base in Belgium.
After finishing as runner-up in 2005 - and the inaugural
edition of the popular female competition - Prumm captured
the number one plate last year in a season that also saw
her augment her profile with several victories in the USA.
Now the friendly 18 year old faces her first test as the
main target for the fastest female racers from across the
continent. “I have tried not to let it worry me and I think
that a lot of people can put pressure on themselves,
particularly if you are defending a title or expected
togetsome results,” she said of her status. “I just want to
go out there and ride the same as I did last year, do my best
and try not to think about the number on the front of the
