the WA State Motocross Championship, as round four took to
Byford on the weekend.
Riding the KTM 450 SX-F for Belmont Tools KTM Dealership team,
Addison from Lesmurdie in WA, takes us through his racing.
“The club did an awesome job preparing the Byford track. They
ripped it up so the terrain was of a national championship
standard. It separated the girls from the boys in terms of battling
with the dirt.
“I got the holeshot in my first moto which was 15 minutes plus one
lap. Last year’s Pro Open state champion, Dean Porter was in
there battling with me for awhile, until he crashed out and didn’t
finish the race.
“This gave me a good 16 second lead over my nearest competitor
before crossing the finish line. I also secured a nice amount of
points to move up in the Championship ladder.
“The final moto was a six lapper, which took around 12 minutes.
My race plan was similar to the opening moto - just to put in some
solid laps, be consistent and not to reduce my speed. I got the
holeshot again and I had Dean Porter behind me chasing my tail.
