Staying up late with Benelux winner Josh Coppins!By: Eric Johnson - 4:00 A.M in the morning is a strange time to hold an interview with a professional motocross rider. But that’s exactly when the following interview with Josh Coppins took place. For while this writer was sitting in front of a TV watching a video tape of the Dallas Supercross and sending out a few E-mails at 7:00 P.M. in Orange County, California, Josh Coppins, half a world (and several time zones!) away was wide awake and mentally replaying the Grand Prix of Benelux over and over again in his mind. Thus when Coppins returned my E-mail congratulating him on his win at Valkenswaard, I decided to hit him with a few quick questions. Unable to sleep and with a little time on his hands, Coppins filled me in on his first moto win over Belgians Steve Ramon and Ken De Dycker, then segued into his runner-up finish to KTM’s Jonathan Barragan in moto two. Pleased to begin his 2007 MX1 World Motocross Championship quest on such a positive note, the ever-friendly Coppins was more than happy to stay awake and answer our questions.
