Yamaha Australia have confirmed that Chad Reed will race in
Australia. The former AMA and World Supercross champion will
compete in round four of the Nokia MX Nationals at Raymond
Terrace, Newcastle, NSW on May 20th.
Reed has just secured the runner-up position in the World SX GP
and AMA SX series’, re-affirming his position as one of the
global sport’s greatest competitors.
A fan favourite and hero to millions, he last competed on home
soil in 2004 at a sold-out Supercross event held at Gosford on
New South Wales’ central coast.
Earlier this year, Reed set about exploring options to compete in
a one-off event in Australia, choosing Raymond Terrace as it was
closest to his home town of Kurri Kurri. There had been
speculation that he may compete in a couple of races but
Yamaha have confirmed that it is only the single event as
American commitments see other dates clash.
